Training Rides

Ramblers Cycling Club does not organise training rides but there are several different groups of members who train regularly on Sundays.  These rides welcome riders looking for some company or motivation.

Hastings Sunday rides start from:

Rebel Sports car park on Heretaunga St East, Hastings at 8am.

This group is generally a bigger group especially suited for riders wanting to join a training programme leading up to the Tour of the Bay or the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge and also for those wishing to learn or improve bunch riding skills.

Napier Sunday rides start from:

Beside the clock tower in Gloucester Street, Taradale at 8am.

This group tends to comprise more experienced riders (generally grades A, B and C) and travels at a faster pace but new members are welcome.  Ensure you have adequate fluid and food for long rides.

Other Training Rides

There are also several other less formal Sunday rides each week along with rides at other times.

A group known as the Pain Train leaves from the Hub Cycle Centre in Heretaunga Street West, Hastings at 5.30pm each Tuesday and rides the Tukutuki Road circuit while over the daylight saving period another group leaves the Taradale clock tower at 5.15pm and rides a circuit over Apley and Seafield Roads.

So if you’re local or visiting the Bay join us for a race or a training ride.  For more information contact us.
