Ramblers Cycling Club held their Club Championship individual time trials, based from Pukehamoamoa School on Saturday 17th April.

The event was of particular interest because on Thursday 29th April the club will host the Club National Championship over the same course.
Strong winds added to the test faced by the 97 riders who competed and many of this year’s champions signalled that they will be strong contenders for national titles.

The senior men’s title went to Grant Nichol with other men’s masters titles taken by Dylan Stewart, Richard Brough, Andrew Townsend, Rob Menefy, Bruce Galloway, Allan Black and Howard Russell.
Senior women’s went to Kerri-anne Torckler and masters women’s titles were won by Caroline Thompson, Ingrid Perols, Carol Sims and Sue Tunnicliffe.
Junior male winners were Fraser Gough, Logan Bean and Regan Gough with the female titles won by Ashleigh Neave, Chrystal Amy and Amanda Jamieson.

Outstanding riders of the day were Fraser Gough in men’s under 19 and Ingrid Perols in women’s masters 3; both these riders showed strong form and should approach their next challenge with confidence.
